Brand Research

Brandmind’s brand research crawl builds a comprehensive profile of your brand so that every piece of generated content sounds authentically on-brand.

What the Crawl Does

When you trigger a brand research crawl (during onboarding or from Settings), Brandmind searches publicly available information about your brand using web search. It analyzes the results to extract your brand identity, voice, positioning, and competitive landscape.

What Sources It Reads

  • Your website — homepage, about page, product pages, and metadata
  • Social media profiles — Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others linked to your brand name or domain
  • Press mentions — news articles, blog features, and reviews mentioning your brand
  • Competitor landscape — similar brands in your space to understand positioning

What It Can’t Find

The crawl only accesses publicly available information. It cannot find:

  • Private or unpublished content (draft pages, internal documents)
  • Social media accounts that are not publicly linked to your brand name or domain
  • Content behind login walls or paywalls
  • Data from your Shopify admin (the crawl uses web search, not Shopify APIs)

How to Fix Inaccurate Results

If the crawl produces inaccurate or incomplete results, you can edit your Brand Profile directly. Go to Settings → Brand Profile and update any field. Your edits are saved immediately and will be used for all future content generation.

Common things to correct:

  • Target audience description
  • Brand tone and voice
  • Key differentiators or brand values
  • Missing social profiles or incorrect brand summary

Research Limits

Each billing period includes 2 brand research crawls across all plans. This limit exists because crawls are resource-intensive. Your first crawl happens during onboarding; you can use the second to refresh your profile if your brand evolves.
